Where do you get these worms Vero?

Gamm vert have them at an exorbitant price so I get them from a German supplier via Amazon. They still aren’t cheap but they are a lot cheapER.
These are the ones - beware I got some ‘mealworms’ from another supplier and they were soldier fly larvae not mealworms. The hens ate them but they weren’t what I had intended to get! If you get 15kg they come as 3 x 5kg sacks in a cardboard box.

I’ve been using the La Poste “Lettre Services Plus” recently to track my documents to and from the translator. They say delivery in 2 days (admittedly with a certain weasel clause) but the last one took a complete week. I’m also increasingly getting emails from La Poste telling me that my package will arrive tomorrow, only to get an email the following day saying something along the lines of “due to circumstances outside our control” it would be delivered a few days later

I’ve got used to it! A jour fĂ©riĂ© that falls on a Thursday generally leads to a pont on Friday and the weekend. Same with a Monday Tuesday pont. No-one is in or doing anything. I called my ORL yesterday for a rdv, but although the cabinet is “always” open from Monday to Friday, according to the recorded message that I heard several times, the cabinet was definitely closed. It’s worse in August
I remember ordering windows etc from Lapeyre in the early days of renovating our house, before we moved here. We ordered them before August and collected them on our next visit, some months later. It was how it worked. But none of this is easy to deal with if one is in a hurry. Best to go with the flow

Message this morning from DPD telling me that the new compost bin would be delivered today - yipeeee

but then two hours later received another message apologising for not being able to deliver today. Since living here full time my expectations have change dramatically, and this kind of situation no longer effects me, just go with it  life’s too short  it’ll arrive :grin:complete polar opposite versus how I was, and had to be during my career :sunglasses:

Sad news is that Shanna, our foster Ally X must go back to the pension tomorrow morning. Her exuberance is doing her no good here, and her stress is passing itself to me too. 3 times in 2 days she has found, or made another, hole in the fence and wandered off to the neighbours (who i have reminded that she is looking for a new home, hint, hint all to no avail). The last but one time she was brought back by a 10 year old boy, all alone and without her being on a lead. She timidly followed him ‘home’.

In this heat with all our doors open she must be attached from now on, but, as I suspected, she runs at full pelt to the end of the line, or runs round and round getting me and her into a tangle.

Of course I knew it would happen, which is why I waited 2 years before relenting and offering her a foster home here. It gives me no pleasure to be proved right.

Very sorry to hear that, @David_Spardo , but we all know you have done all that you possibly could.

Yes, but I really though that her youth would make the training easier. But it doesn’t. She learns very quickly the correct response to many commands and obeys, usually, instantly. But she seems to have no capacity to keep it in her memory bank, and will transgress the same way again and again. Most frustrating, and sad.

No less than many human juveniles.

A sad journey to Sharon’s this morning, Shanna and I had a kiss and a cuddle before we parted

and then she left me a little cadeau of remembrance, by shitting in the car. :astonished: :slightly_frowning_face:

Oh David, what a shame. Maybe she knew what was coming and was anxious?

She was certainly anxious, very high pitched in the car which has becom the norm only over the last 3 days or so.
But also first thing. Usually as soon as I get up I open the front door because she wants to go out and I was a little worried that I would have to put her on a lead and go out with her without even having a pee nyself. But she didn’t this morning, not only that but she remained inside with Jules for more than an hour when I started making arrangements to go out.

She knew when you made up your mind 3 days ago?

Possibly after her Saturday escape she guessed at a change when I kept her on a lead until we closed the doors for the night.

Our chauffe-eau has died - just outside the guarantee period, naturally

The previous one lasted over twenty years until it rusted to death - howevre, it did have a replaceable element, which we needed to do once. Needless to say, the one we have now doesn’t

Have you tested the element with a multi meter. It could be the thermostat that’s US & maybe changeable

My partner tested something with his multimeter - I shall check what! Thanks @Wozza

Mine stopped working about 6 weeks ago. I tested that the electrical current arrived to the HWH, it did, so cut off the current to the HWH and disconnected the heating element from the thermostat and tested for continuity, that was ok, so it must be the thermostat. Changed the thermostat and also the heating element as well over 15 years old. Now probably good for another 15 years :grinning:
A few weeks before the washing machine stopped working one month after the garentie expired :rage:. I tested the current, it arrived, ordered a new carte electronic fitted and now it’s working fine. Side note: if anyone does the same always buy pre programmed cards for the machine, model number etc.
