Ring ste foy! They haven’t replaced me yet.
I will be careful, even though I feel alive compared to the last 2 days I’m still not right, slight headache, cough ect and I did lots of washing, folding ect this morning and that really tired me. I had a good nap and have spent the afternoon on my derrière watching gardening videos!!!
Thanks! I will but will have to be later in the week once I know more about the lady I’m replacing currently if she isn’t back until the holidays!
Its a tiresome bug, seems to go away for a couple of days then it bounces back, friends reporting similar.
And whisky in that then warm it?
My son couldn’t take up the flu jab because of his ongoing spleen problem and the drugs he is taking but was finally told this week he could now get one. Not one pharmacie within ten kms has any stock and no idea when they will get any more and I saw on the main news the other evening that Sanofi have had to produce thousands more doses to cope with demand. We are keeping the little one away from crêche this week so her op won’t be compromised.
France Info suggests that there will be no more as only 11 million does were ordered, which have by and large been used. And the flu campaign ends on Jan 31st. The vaccine takes time to be produced so he may well have missed it unless his pharmacy can source it from another pharmacy.
I think he has given up the idea anyway. Working in education, they are frontline for all the health bugs doing the rounds as parents now won’t stay off work to look after sick kids (the crêche is the worst for this) as they lose pay or are too bone idle unfortunately these days and prefer others to do their job.
No whiskey for me ATM as I’m doing my 100 day AF again!
I’m doing similar but also with cinnamon and galangal instead of ginger, we’ve read lots if studies and it is even higher in anti whatever’s than ginger!
Jedi Midichlorians, probably.
How awful for you.
Take care and make sure you take tge rest you need to get well soon.
Granddaughter due to have her op this week to shut off a valve near her heart to stop future infections getting in. When she came in from crêche tonight she is covered in chickenpox spots! Would you believe it as she had been moved up the list by two weeks after the child this week fell ill. Parents are running round like headless chickens arranging two days off work so looks like it may go back to the original appointment in a fortnight now.
Bloody hell, thats bad timing and surely a bit of a risk to the little thing?
Very late to this thread due to my house move but just wanted to say get well soon @toryroo and to send best wishes for your granddaughter @Shiba
What a worry, I hope all goes well
Thanks for your support. You couldn’t make all this up what with my son and his ongoing mysterious spleen infarctus and now the little one. Unfortunately as the parents have found out before there are some selfish parents who dump their kids at crêche and when they are ill, never inform the ones in charge because they either don’t want time off or can’t be bothered to look after them at home. The other pappy is now under close scrutiny by the family as he never had the chickenpox when young and little one spent the day there on sunday.
Absolutely, I was asked by one of my property landlords to visit a tenant the other day, they did not tell me their son had chicken pox! Out of there as fast as I could once I heard,it will be at least a couple of weeks before I visit, the air in the property felt like I should open all the windows to change the heavy high humidity air, yuk.
I really hope it all works out for your son and granddaughter @shiba . That sort of thing is such a worry! It’s bad enough when you are older and get problems, but for youngsters it just doesn’t feel fair…
They went to the village doctor earlier to get a diagnosis but he had no idea if it is chickenpox or not, they know it is but felt he was b***dy useless and is not their usual one. Anyway speaking to the surgeon’s secretary at the hospital in Toulouse, they are going to re-schedule for about four week’s time to give her time to get over it and make sure no family members come down too! As for my son, its a complete mystery but the specialist in spleen surgery did not rule out a reaction to the covid jab as he said he had some other patients present with odd symptoms too but obviously there is no concrete proof, just coincidence with the dates etc.
Never rains but it pours Shiba, but wishing you all the best for good outcomes all round.
Time for a small whinge if people don’t mind…
When we switched to a basic fibre connection it was trouble free despite us expecting hassle. We stayed with Orange.
However, the one problem we did have was that they charged us 22 euros for over 2 weeks of using my mobile for the internet between ADSL and fibre contracts. Actually, there was no gap between the services and we’ve never used my mobile instead of the broadband anyway.
My partner rang them and they agreed (as a “goodwill gesture” of course) to cancel the 22 euros charge. So far so good except that I can no longer make calls on the phone as it is “out of charge” and can next use it when the next month’s payment goes through in 2 weeks’ time.
My dilemma is - do I go through yet another load of hassle on their helpline or do I abandon my phone :thinks:
