Bought three cans of Heinz baked beans a fortnight ago at €1,43 each. Went to get more earlier today and now €1,90 each. Like the UK pension, obviously a victim of the falling exchange rate.
I always preferred Branston beans, but I’ve never seen them here.
I might know someone who brought a whole box back from the UK last time he was over

I just get a yearning now and again for them on toast and a tin will do two good meals. Mum actually preferred the Aldi UK version which I have never tried. Yes I know Branston beans, they were not bad. Another favourite was spaghetti hoops on toast and the last time I tried them, they were tasteless and insipid looking. I also tried Campbells condensed tomato soup (another childhood favourite) in the US recently and couldn’t finish it, again utterly destroyed taste-wise.
As you probably know, and with great respect to any Cousins who may read this, US versions of processed foods you’ve enjoyed in the UK often bear little resemblance - different ingredients and often more sugar.
Chocolate is a prime example, and I think we discussed international tea blends in another thread.

Chocolate, but not as we know it…
That’s because of the butyric acid they put in it as a milk preservative. It’s often said to smell of sick, and sick does contain butyric acid. I expect Americans get used to the smell and flavour so don’t notice it, but Europeans would probably gag.
I think the reason is trop de sucre et moins de chocolat.

A friend working (for 3M) in Singapore explained that run of the mill chocolates have additives that vary depending in the intended country of sale. Hot countries require a higher melting temperature. That wonderful melt in the mouth texture is sometimes lost in export.
