Lived for a time in central Newcastle and The Strawberry, a cramped, dingy and very popular Victorian pub was my local: it was across the road from St James’ Park. One evening we went in early and my friend said, “Look who’s at the bar.” There stood a middle-aged guy with a bubble haircut cum mullet and a too large leather blouson jacket.
M27 in the fast lane going to a ferry at Portsmouth going to France for our Peugeot, and it was OH driving at the time. She said she did a wonderful job getting it to the hard shoulder. Fortunately (or unfortunately in her view), I wasn’t in the car at the time as I was working and she was going to our MS in Deux-Sèvres.
My wife had one a while ago, eternal problems with everything electronic. I think the roof was manual, but to get it properly down you had to remove the side rails and leave them behind. Also, not really a blokes car
I’m sorry about that too, he is from the days when I had a modicum of interest in football and footballers. I recall Laurie McMenemy, who was the manager of Southampton signing him, possibly from Hamburg, and holding a pistol (well a pointed finger really) to his head as a joke for the cameras.
Rona has rolled in pig sh*t this morning and is delighted with her new smell!
Orange is supposed to have fixed OH’s webmail from having blocked it two weeks ago. Supposed to have had a phone call between 11 and 12 from “AJ” to confirm all is well. It’s not. And he didn’t phone.
I haven’t managed to get through to Qlima about our potentially lethal clim.
She has a toilettage tomorrow morning. I feel it is unfair to inflict her on the groomer as she is now. I am waiting til it’s completely dry and will try to brush the worst of it out. Wet Airedale smelling of wet pig sh*t who will then want to dry herself off on every available surface needs avoiding at all costs!
Bet she’s super happy! I thought of you in Germany, bumped into a very nice Airedale and his people. Curiously Border Terriers also seem popular, I met a few of them.
Jules has a predilection for the droppings of boar, deer and rabbits in the field. As he is always snuffling about with his nose in the undergrowth I am very watchful. If I see him lingering too long at one spot I order him away very strictly. Of course he has optional hearing so I end up giving him a quick reminder with the line.
