I’m almost surprised it’s that high.
Reminds me of what someone said about W.H.Auden. “If his face looks like that, what do his balls look like?"
I was just pondering why, if Trump is happy to sit in an outside arena for seven bouts of cage fighting on Sunday, why he needs to spend taxpayers’ money on a fortified ballroom?
My spirit has been lifted…!
That is brilliant, did they wear soft shoes so they didn’t wake the poor old deluded chap

Looking on the bright side, it’s likely to rain from about 5pm their time and lightning is expected around 9pm. I read that they can cope with rain, although the dome thing doesn’t seem to have a lot of shelter. I read something said by an organiser who said they cope with pretty much anything except lightning.
I just read this by Jemima Kelly in the FT. She’s spot on.
Be warned one of the respondents is Piers Morgan.
Yes, there are a couple of sycophantic ones, but amply overridden by a multitude of the opposite persuasion.
Have I missed something? The big take on ,the yet to be signed, peace agreement between the US and Iran is that the straits of Homulz will be opened and Iran won’t develop nuclear weapons. Wasn’t that where we were in March before this all began?
I don’t think you’ve missed a thing. He’s got a worse nuclear deal than Obama, Iran may still want tolls for the strait of Hormuz and most of it is still being negotiated, AIUI.
I think he wanted to announce it on his birthday, as if the bloodbath on the White House lawn wasn’t enough.
Can he count that as nine, even if he started it?
The whole thing is a stupidity and vanity project for Trump and a good bit of manipulation by Israel who will (I bet) scupper the peace agreement.
I’m sure on Thursday Bibi will either a) launch an attack on Iran or Lebanon or b) launch an attack on Israel and claim its Iran.
This
Trump has spent lives and billions going backwards.
The US is a net importer of crude oil because domestic wells produce crude which is too “light” for its refineries. Therefore Iran has Trump’s balls in a vice over the blockade of Hermuz. Many commentators have been predicting crunch point for world oil reserves sometime in July. If this war continues we could see $3-400 a barrel which would be interesting, to say the least. And not in a good way.
Interesting BBC article too.
My concern is that now America has depleted it’s stockpile of weapons and it’s taste for fighting, will China seize Taiwan? If I were Xi Jinping this might seem a very opportune moment.
Here’s a perhaps contrarian view, which suggests Trump is reinventing America.
The i paper, really? Total BS and just annoying, despite trying to block that crap on every device. Now back to enjoying my working holiday
