I spent a great 3 years in Ottawa and would go again in a minute. My daughter is looking to do a ski season in Jasper later this year so it might happen.

Canada is one of our favourite countries, and one we could consider living in if we had to emmigrate. Our son worked 2 years in Whistler before going to New Zealand.
I always rejected it, as a young traveller, in favour of Oz, because of the cold. Regret it now that those days are over.

Who knows, he’s like a straw in the wind. But if I can’t have my name on it I’ll demolish it seems like grounds for a residential visit to a secure facility to me.

I would agree with that.
His acolytes describe how he is really playing 4D chess, but that seems to me to be “sane-washing” the actions of a madman.

It’s not exactly 4D chess but there is some method to his madness. He certainly like to create uncertainty by constantly changing his mind about what he wants, making a decision one day, making the opposite decision next. I suspect some of this is still deliberate and it creates opportunities and wrong-foots his enemies.
He also constantly pushes against the restraints that the constitution puts on presidential power - he can do in a second what it takes the courts days, weeks or months to sort and it saps the ability of the system to keep those checks and balances in place.
The constant lying serves a similar purpose of overwhelming people’s ability to care so eventually it just becomes normalised.
But when actually matched by a power that he can’t control and won’t back down he always chickens out. I think Carney was right to stand up to him.

Morally,yes. But can Canada really do any damage with what they put forward?
I’m struggling to decide if at this stage of their evolution is ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) are more like the Sturmabteilung (SA) or the Schutzstaffel (SS).
I saw a suggestion that since the ICE agents now have lots of kit, and seem to regard themselves as tough, let them be deployed to Iran.
Trump always chickens out. He’ll chicken out on the Iran sanctions too if China growls at him.
