Oh crikey Trump

Sounds like the “saluting traps” that squaddies in the Army set for unpopular officers.

Yes I had gathered that :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Trump latest - not surprising, but hopefully by the time it’s ready, he might not be needing this prospective donation to the Trump Memorial Library - maybe it’ll just be another Trump memorial…

Besides the obvious problems with accepting a 400 million dollar “gift” from Qatar, I thought the whole Trump ethos was to make American great ‘again’, in part by bringing back manufacturing to the US. Why wouldn’t they use American companies for Air Force One?

Well they did - there is an order in with Boeing for two new Air Force Ones, but Boeing being the shit-show that they are nowadays can’t deliver until 2027 or 2028 (being well behind schedule and massively over budget).

So Trumpy Boy wants a shiny new toy before he stops being President instead of swanning around in Joe Biden’s failing and very unfair aircraft.

Even the Qatari crate will need tons of electronic warfare and comms gizmos installed, so I can’t quite see what the point is, as that is bound to take a fair bit of time.

I suspect he’s not too worried when it arrives, so long as it’s his property at the end of it.

The point is, if it comes to pass, is that the US taxpayers will foot the bill to upgrade it so that POTUS can effectively use it without it being a security risk (not that Trump cares about security), and when that’s all done and he’s out of office,Trump can get his library to pay for the upkeep and he can still take it on golf excursions instead of his lame 757.

As far as I can see Trump has to pay for his Memorial Library, which despite his first term having ended five years ago, is still currently only a web site and a multi-million $ fund (surprise!).

And to think that forty years ago, people used to joke about the books in Reagan’s proposed Memorial Library…

Perhaps a very small Ikea bookshelf for the ghost-written The Art of the Deal (in which he claimed his paternal grandfather was Swedish, not a German draft dodger), the Trump Bible and some book about Melania would be sufficient.

Perhaps this book would be a useful addition to the Library:

Fortunately, there’s a Kindle version - that Ikea shelf’s not very long…

I have watched and read a lot of hysterical media content about :crown::crown::crown:king Trump. The provenance of most of it is often dubious as are the motives for posting it. This clip is taken direct from the floor of the US senate. It is a (high tech :joy:) presentation by a senator for California Adan Schiff.

Aaaaaannnnnddddd… a US Federal court has ruled that all Trumpy Boy’s tariffs are illegal.

Not sure if the Supreme Court will overrule them and let the Permatanned Pillock have his way, or if he will now have to get Congress to pass some new legislation.

Or (best case scenario) give up the whole idea and wave his hands in the air and blame his failure all on “corrupt judges”.

Either way it’s a welcome setback for him.

Erm… I don’t suppose he is so subtle he could have arranged this as a way of stepping back?

The idea that Trump has a Cunning Plan has been floated a few times - mainly because it seems inexplicable to normal people that someone who got elected President could be so ignorant, selfish and stupid.

But sadly I think the reality is that he actually is totally ignorant, selfish and stupid.

I’m not so sure. His objective was total chaos and having absolutely everything he has done so far subject to court delay and appeals works. Now he’s going to start throwing thousands of Chinese students legally in the US out of school. Is there anyone left that he hasn’t pissed off?

Well given that tariffs are something he’s been banging on about for many years and they seem to be a central plank of his administration’s plans, I do consider this a setback.

Even though the whole tariff idea is a nonsense and will never achieve what he thinks it would achieve - “bringing jobs back to America” and “making foreign countries pay”; having them blocked involves a considerable loss of face for Trump.

As usual Phil Moorhouse has some wise words on the subject:

It’s going to the SCOTUS though - and they think the sun shines out of Trump’s rear end there.
