Oh crikey Trump

I think people are slowly waking up to the realisation of what has been obvious since before the election campaign. Sadly too few though and woefully too late.

Is it very surprising given that one of Trumps early “great ideas” to make Covid look less of a threat was to stop counting cases.

Apologies, as I know that this has been previously stated, but as a reminder - a lot of righties only get their news from Fox and Newsmax and other right wing sources, so they are grossly uninformed. I watch Fox “news” every once in a while, when something big comes up that would make Trump look less than godlike, because I want to see how they spin it, and there will be literally NOTHING reported about it. Saying that something was obvious assumes that people are actually paying attention. They’re either not, or they have such limited news sources that they have no clue. Hence all of the “I didn’t vote for THIS” handwringing lately. Yes, yes you did. You voted for exactly this.

This is true. It’s not that they put a better spin on bad news. It just didn’t happen in Trumpland.

A former fashion model back in the 90s, doesn’t tell all, but enough, about Epstein & Trump, and also comments on the nasty side of the fashion-model industry. She seems to me to be tough honest and open.

As if it was ever in doubt…

To us and the sane world, there is no doubt. But try telling it to his Maga supporters who are more concerned, at last, about him promising to lower the cost of living, and isn’t succeeding.

And on other issues I see that Republican town hall meetings are beginning, at last, to look like this.

As he says on the Medicare question “we can’t afford that”.

In other words the wealthiest country on Earth is saying “unless you are rich, sod off and die”.

Healthcare in the US is deeply screwed and has been for years - massive inequality and overspend compared with the EU without results being any better.

As to Trump - he may or may not be in accelerated cognitive decline compared with normal ageing (FWIW I think he is) - but we are well past the stage where his mental acuity is the biggest threat to the US.

Don’t forget - if Trump is deemed incapable, they get Vance.

I’m not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, he’s much more capable, which is scary. On the other, I seriously doubt that the cult will transfer their adoration to Vance - as in the case of Ted Cruz, pretty much everyone hates him. So…idk.

Sorry, I’ve seen this before, but blowed if I can fit words to it. :grinning:

@David_Spardo Sorry - I don’t know.

Thanks Mum, I really should’ve, but didn’t, know. :joy:

Ha ha I see what you did there.

I find this change of position frankly astonishing, to the point where you have to believe the man has no compass, moral or otherwise. This might be a correct decision, but flip-flopping like this is surely madness.

From the New York Times today.

Trump Deploys National Guard for D.C. Crime but Called Jan. 6 Rioters ‘Very Special’

The heart of D.C. was in a state of lawlessness.

Roving mobs of wild men smashed windows, threatened murder and attacked the police.

One rioter struck an officer in the face with a baton. Another threw a chair at police officers and pepper-sprayed them. Others beat and used a stun gun on an officer, nearly killing him.

On Jan. 6, 2021, a pro-Trump mob committed a month’s worth of crime in the span of about three hours.

The F.B.I. has estimated that around 2,000 people took part in criminal acts that day, and more than 600 people were charged with assaulting, resisting or interfering with the police. (Citywide, Washington currently averages about 70 crimes a day.)

But President Trump’s handling of the most lawless day in recent Washington history stands in sharp contrast to his announcement on Monday that he needed to use the full force of the federal government to crack down on “violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals” in the nation’s capital. (my italics).

After a prominent member of the Department of Government Efficiency, known by his online pseudonym, “Big Balls,” was assaulted this month, the president took federal control of Washington’s police force and mobilized National Guard troops. His team passed out a packet of mug shots, and Mr. Trump described “roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people.”

That was nothing like the message he delivered to the mob of his supporters on Jan. 6, when he told them, as tear gas filled the hallways of the Capitol: “We love you. You’re very special.”

And as a huge shock to absolutely no-one with a working brain, not only have the Epstein Files not been released, Ghislaine Maxwell is out of prison.

She’s clearly got the 24 Carat Gold Kompromat on a deadman’s trigger hidden somewhere even the Feds can’t find it.

Roll on the Vance/Woodchipper 2028 Whitehouse campaign.
