Yes we got our telephone appointment with our local tax official. He has helped us in the past.
He fully understood the issue, apologised for the confusion and directed us to add the missing 8TK box in section 8 of form 2042K under box 8KZ.
Then just above the blue line at the bottom of Section 8 in line with our created box add ‘Revenus de source etrangere ouvrant droit a un credit d’impot egal a l’impot francais’.
Then in the INFORMATIONS under section 8 “AJOUTEE CI- DESSUS Car la case 8TK est absente cette Annee sur la declaration”
