To renew 5 yr carte de séjour the Savoie préfecture website says just photos, current CDS, passport and proof of address are required at your appointment at the préfecture. But I’ve heard from elsewhere that if your CDS is marked Toutes Activités Professionnelles, as mine is, you also have to take documents proving income, who your clients are, that you’ve paid your URSSAF contributions, etc., i.e. everything relating to your professional activity. There is no way of asking them other than by appointment as far as I can see, having tried calling them. Has anyone had an appointment to renew recently and can confirm one way or the other? Any advice gratefully received.

and, are you absolutely sure that what you heard relates to your own situation??
EDIT: I note you’ve posted this under Employed & Self-employed so presumably you are one or the other and could provide the paperwork if necessary… or is there a problem??
renewing can be a worrying time, but taking everything “just in case” can relieve the stress of being asked for something you haven’t got with you

Certainly I can provide the paperwork, self-employed since first CDS, I’d just rather not have to assemble documents that are not required, especially as I don’t know exactly what they might be, so if anyone has recently renewed and can confirm I’d be very grateful.

Fair enough… but you’ve still left me wondering where you heard that you need more than the Prefecture site actually says…
If you can clarify that source.. it might jog someone’s memory, even if they’re not actually in your Dept 
By the way.. is your CdS a Brexit WA CdS? as we have a forum expert on such matters.
Which 5 yr carte? There are several.
If your is a card you got as a result of living here pre-Brexit then each préfecture has set up a separate process. Which is very light touch and shouldn’t require these sorts of documents. The most that seems to have been asked in some areas are your avis d’impôts.
Does your card have TUE50 on the back?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the Catégorie du titre is Art. 50 TUE, and under Obsérvations is Art. 18(1) Accord de Retrait du Royaume-Uni de l’UE.

Excellent. Mine is just like yours (only mine is 10 Years) and it carries the wording “Toutes Activités Professionnelles”
even though I came to France a lifetime ago (without the need for a CdS) and have never worked here… when Brexit happened and I had to apply for a CdS, France decided to allow me to work if I wished to… 
You might like to check with @kim who is the font of all knowledge.

Not to derail the thread, but I’d never noticed that it bore the phrase “Toutes Activités Professionnelles” on the reverse of my CdS.
Makes sense as the impôts information supplied to be granted it did concern income earned in France.
Irrelevant, it just allows you to work as per the withdrawal agreement.

@Jonathan_Holland I’ve deleted my original comment as my advice will be on where you live are you 73 or 74?
However, toutes activities are so that you can work negotiated with the withdrawal agreement. The request for additional documents depends on your own prefecture. Contrary to advice given elsewhere, they are allowed to ask for additional info within reason. But it’s not related to what documents you are asked for with regard to the Article 50 Brexit CdS.

73 do not use DN (demarche numerique) it’s a dedicated Brexit rdv to book.
The feedback from the members we have and we have quite few in 73 is that the basic documents are only required, but there is an application form to complete. The contrat d’engagement is your choice.

Hi Kim, I already have my rdv booked and have the form to complete. I think I’ll take backup docs in addition to the basic ones on the Savoie Préfecture website anyway to be on the safe side. They got all the URSSAF and other professional activity stuff from me first time round but I suppose it wouldn’t be unreasonable for them to be checking what applicants are up to five years later. It’s just a hassle getting stuff printed at the moment as I’m away from home, so I was hoping to hear additional docs were definitely not needed. Thanks for your help anyway and thanks to everyone else who replied.
There are no extra documents for 73 but if you want to take extra documents just your impot statements but they won’t be needed.
