Saying hi from the other side of the Atlantic

We’re a newly retired English couple with US citizenship splitting our time between Florida where we have lived for the past 18 years and our holiday house in the Dominican Republic and intend to spend 6 months this side of the pond and the rest in the South West region of France.
Just wanted to say hi/hello and looking forward to this newest adventure and lean on you guys to answer the many questions we have.
Mark & Jill.

Welcome!

And welcome from me too to both of you, but, having just noticed your thread about your car is it worth it for just regular stays? There is a man though who knows about such stuff, I didn’t mention him there because I have forgotten his name.
Someone will be along very soon with a better memory than mine.

I’ll mention him in the car thread

Welcome Mark & Jill, what’s prompting you to choose SW France for your next big adventure?

Welcome to the site.

Don’t suppose you’re looking to buy a house are you? I know of someone selling a very nice place for a bargain price, if so.

We have been to France many times and always loved that region and said that one day we would love to retire there.

Whereabouts in Florida, may I ask? I spent most of my last 60 years there and escaped to sanity 2.5 years ago.

We lived in Lutz, just above Tampa.

We are but plan to rent the first year to find the best area for us, but thank you.

I’ve been through there, but lived mostly on the east coast. Daytona Beach, Deltona, Paisley, N Miami, and uni Tallahassee. My uncle lived 50 meters off Clearwater Beach for years. The people I sold my house to , to move here, were escaping Tarpon Springs.

Very sensible… I’ll just post this anyway, just in case it’s still available next year
