Secret Santa 2025! 🤶

I’m very excited to announce that Survive France Secret Santa is back for 2025!

:mrs_claus::evergreen_tree::mrs_claus::evergreen_tree::mrs_claus:

What is it?

Secret Santa is a present swap, you’ll be given a random recipient and you need to buy or make a gift (15€ value plus postage) and send it to them.

How does it work?

  • Sign up before Friday 14th November 2025 at midnight (French time). You need to fill in a short questionnaire with any likes, dislikes or allergies to help your Santa find a fabulous present for you. You can register your interest on this thread and any ideas or chat but there will be a seperate official sign up thread with the questionnaire.
  • Here is the link to the sign up thread: 🤶 Secret Santa 2025 join up thread
  • You need to Private Message me your postal address. Please include in title SS and your user name.
  • As soon as possible after this date you will receive your recipient and their address. Have fun planning, buying or making a gift you think they’ll enjoy. Don’t forget the ‘secret’ bit! Gifts to be to the value of €15.
  • You need to send your gift in time for it to arrive by 15th December 2025. This will hopefully avoid the Christmas post rush and allow anyone going away to receive in time.
  • EU and UK residents welcome to join. Unfortunately due to postal costs and issues this is not open to other countries. I will do my best match people in their country due to cross border postage issues.
  • Reveal day (date TBA). Please make sure you post a picture of the gift you have received :mrs_claus::mrs_claus: for everyone to enjoy.

I hope you are as excited as me, I LOVE Christmas and Secret Santas!

Has secret santa been by before? If so, where was I I wonder?

It was quite a long time ago now, I can’t remember exactly when but it was hugely popular.
Thank you very much @toryroo for organising!

I had a quick look and found one in 2014!

I hope thus one is popular too or I’ll be sending myself something :zany_face::rofl::rofl::rofl:

For all you grinches out there, a very jolly parcel arrived to go under my tree(s) this morning. OH and I are not giving each other presents this year, so it joins a select group of 2 other packages.

And I am a possessor of fine slate cheese platter :grinning_face:. On which now reposes a piece of stilton from last year we found at the bottom of the freezer, and which remarkably is just fine. And the French cheese platter didn’t shatter at the affront.

Thanks to my Santor,

I was just coming to post!

I got a stunning teatowel, washable face wipes and some very cute hot mitts! Thanks so much Santa!

@cat @Rachel05 what did you get?? :mrs_claus::mrs_claus:

Nothing yet!!!

I got 2 different types of moisture creams and some smelly night light candles. We used the first candle last night and it smelt lovely. My face was in definite need of the moisture cream so it was perfect timing. Thank you to my giver.

I’m pleased to say, ladies, that (apart from the cheese plate) the gifts you chose for each other are completely incomprehensible to me.

You may pity Madame P :rofl:

Surely you have tea towel skills?

But surely the man washes up after dinner. :wink:

I bought her an iRon one year

No!

The gentleman of the house (who in this house has cooked dinner) politely reloads the dishwasher in an orderly fashion after the lady of the house has indulged in some radical, avant-garde, freeform dishwasher loading. This may seem rather conservative, but sometimes the old ways are the best: glasses, cups and bowls in dishwashers should go in upside down.

That is a pattern which is quite familiar. :slight_smile:

Smart lady. Why do it yourself when one has subordinate to do it for you.

Not really that smart because she’s already spent ages doing it ‘creatively’ whilst moaning about it, so in the end the line manager has to sort it out..

And don’t get me on to unloading without breaking glasses…

I’m not allowed to load or unload the dishwasher, can’t think why not :wink:
