Short exercise routines

I spend too much time sitting which can/does affect blood flow in the legs, which ain’t good for us oldies.

Just came across the ‘Senior Book’ on YouTube with some simple sitting & standing exercises, plus walking backwards as the most beneficial! The video uses words like shocking stunned miracle and dramatic or ‘we will reveal’ - but ignore them – it’s American speak. The exercises sound sensible & not too strenuous to me, but I’d leave a couple to the younger oldies.

References point to the University of Pennsylvania, CDC (Centres of Disease Control), European Journal of Applied Physiology, Cleveland Clinic, The National Institute on Aging and the Mayo Clinic, all of which exist.

“This video breaks down five surgeon-approved exercises that were tested in research labs and proven to boost blood flow in seniors over 60. And make sure to watch until the last exercise, walking backwards, because researchers found it stimulates circulation more effectively than some medical treatments”.

Luckily, I have strong legs, but stability isn’t as good as I’d like, which will probably affect most of us in time.
