I feel confident that there are people here who enjoy watching test cricket.
I therefore feel bound to share what for me is an amazing discovery — namely that if you live in France you can watch it for free on the ICC.TV website!
Thank you so much…I’d resigned myself to never seeing live test cricket again, ie from France.(no TV, and not understanding VPNs etc)…Quite made my day…
Whilst obviously delighted at being able to access test cricket for free online, I’m fascinated to know:-
a) why the ICC is permitting free access - possibly to raise cricket’s profile, particularly in non-cricketing countries?
b) how the ICC has navigated around the TV rights issues, which have usually been cited in the past as reasons for not permitting global free access. i assume the free TV access would not be available in countries where the (valuable) rights have already been sold, eg UK, Australia, India etc.
DH is in hospital and finds that it works well for a bit and then stops. He has changed his vpn setting, but the live cricket is not coming back. Any help gratefully received!
I’m sorry to hear about your DH, and hope he recovers asap.
I’m wondering about him using a VPN for the cricket, as it’s not needed to access the ICC website, assuming he’s in France. I’m not remotely a tech type, and will happily defer to any one who is, but has he tried without the VPN in case it’s somehow causing the intermittent service?
That is a good thought. He does usually use a VPN set to France, but it would be worth a try to turn it off. He is in for a while so the cricket is very helpful. The tour de France on telly should be no problem next week and is in our neck of the woods!
