Starlink came to the rescue of the family and neighbours during Storm Helene in NC the other year when there was no way of contacting anyone. They were all very impressed and SIL was able to work. The only downside was that someone had to travel miles to get a phone signal out of the storm region.
We just had 5min of moderate rain here in sud Angleterre: sky went very dark and it did rain properly, but now it’s backed off a long way and is lighter again. Hopefully enough to do a little good.

What a pretty courtyard. Is that brown area your lawn?
It was, before it went crunchy. Hopefully the grass will recover. And thank you - it’s all my wife’s work so no credit to me.

I always find it so amazing how quickly the grass does recover after a long dry spell. You wait - come September/October if Toni takes the same photo, the brown area will be green. But I agree with @Jennifer11 it is a very pretty courtyard and now that you’ve retired, you can spend more time in it 
I’m about to spend more time in it very shortly - discovered this morning there’s a drain to unblock. 
Guess the extra water was good for the hydrangeas.

And is there only a rose around the arch or is there another climber (maybe honeysuckle or jasmin) there?

Sadly, there is a very nasty strain of insecticide resistant mosquitoes working their way across Africa - anopheles stephensi.
Possibly there may be a list of household tasks…? 
That’s one place we won’t be going to then …..
It’s a rose one side, honeysuckle the other. Mrs. AM has done a great job. This is how things were mid-June this year.
Tidy the house and start clearing out over the next couple of years so that when we decide it’s time to move then we’re ready. We have lived here since 1990, and there’s a lot of stuff plus the things from my mother a couple of years ago. I investigated a box this morning that contained things from our sons art A level, 20 years ago. But the tidying will wait: I need to further explore pensions and investments and we’re also in France again soon.
