Clearing though, just filling up at Creysse,we’ll wave on the way past! On the way to the Aude for a long weekend with old friends!
Have a safe journey @toryroo ![]()
Anyone remember how to turn on the windscreen wipers? ![]()
We haven’t stopped using ours because what little rain we’ve had brings sand with it.
Lovely to wake up and feel cool air on my face this morning, and having to spread an extra blanket on the bed last night. And nice to put on a jacket to keep warm outside early this morning.
Before getting up I was looking at the sky and was annoyed to see that pink glow from a rising sun in what looked like a clear sky!
Duvet up to the neck last night.
As we were getting ready this morning I checked the temperature in our bedroom - 26 degrees. Surely it can’t be that warm in here, can it? We have already partly acclimated.
From what has been in the press and on the radio and TV the past week about the new El Niño making next summer even hotter, maybe those on SF who do not have aircon in the house, should think about getting some installed over the winter as plumbers will be in high demand, in readiness or if not possible, stock up on other means of keeping cool before the rush happens again. I could not have survived without my aircon this summer and it’s still going now albeit a little less colder today as it’s not so hot.
I feel robbed, by those of you in the Dordogne Valley. gloating pictures of grey misty rain and games with windscreen wipers, while my firmly promised rain for Thursday and Friday disappeared south. Quiet flows the Dronne it may be but no use to us while the Dordogne obviously roars its way to the sea. ![]()
We’ve got one on order, in the UK. I found it unbelievably hot here and can’t imagine how you all coped in Europe, you all have my respect.
Aircon needed in Cumbria = absolute proof of global warming. ![]()
Air con isn’t just for cooling though. Ours is reversible and we use it to heat the house in winter.
That’s cheating. ![]()
A good point, of course.
so is mine, works brilliantly and no need for radiators taking up wall space
I’ve already put a complaint in to the weather gods. Pointing out Cumbria = rain, ( fairly continual), grey skies and bloody cold, even in summer, I’ve no idea what they think they’re playing at.![]()
I have doors and windows open at 10:30 am for the first time in at least a month and the temperature in my living room has actually dropped a degree.
The air not smelling or tasting of smoke is a big plus as well.
Anyone looking at harvesting water over wintertime?
Could be hotter than the 1877 El Nino,
