As far as the original question goes I can’t see "Emily"41 getting a work visa because
I.e not terribly skilled or sought after abilities. It seems language skills are also lacking which isn’t going to help.

No it isn’t.
People might disagree but having studied French and German, I would say German is harder to learn.
I like how logical German is and of course their spelling reform at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20thC makes it a lot easier to pronounce and to write down what you hear. It has that in common (if nothing else) with Spanish. But I love German and it’s my 2nd language after French and English so I’m hardly impartial.
I agree, German is very logical, I just found it harder to learn than French.
We have lived in Germany twice over the years including more recently. It’s definitely not an easy place to go to find work unless you’re sponsored by a company. There’s a lot of bureaucracy which would making the move on your own almost impossible. Rents are extremely high for anyone not from the EU. We lived there prior to the UK leaving the EU. So it was slightly simpler to work there then. Unless your German is perfect, spoken and written I would say don’t bother trying it on your own.
If I thought there was evil intent I would be with you, but I don’t like seeing harmless creatures rounded on a pack.

I think the honest advice should be that choosing a destination is premature, and as we have no idea whatsoever of how a Pakistani student/shopkeeper/agricultural worker would get a work visa for France or Germany he/she/they should investigate that first, rather than waste time discussing options, neither of which may be viable.
I would suggest Emily needs to get advice from someone who has been through the emigration from Pakistan process, maybe his/her/their sister/brother can help.

BTW you need to understand that Europe is not an easy place to live. The rules are complicated, often quite different between different countries, and can be hostile to foreign nationals. Permits are usually required for a foreign national to be allowed to work, and they may require a high level of qualification plus sponsorship from an employer - I have a colleague, a molecular biologist, who is unable to extend his permit and will soon have to return to India.

I took this account from my sister because I had told her that I prefer France or Germany. She suggested that I should try to find a job for myself before going, so I can manage my expenses properly. I understand your concern, and sorry for the confusion earlier. I should have explained it more clearly from the start. I am just trying to get proper guidance before making any decision about moving, nothing else. I also appreciate the information you shared about Europe and the realities there, it is helpful.
