Ah ha , as you can tell i didnt really read it
This thread has put the alternative version of the song Walking In A Winter Wonderland (walking round in women’s underwear) into my head now.
My wife continues to get these from the NHS orthotic section that has supplied her since the early 80s. I was surprised to find they are made in Canada.
Not only the ladies are suffering. I usually top up on underwear items at M&S during our tri-annual trek to the UK, (7.5 ton licence) but M&S for me is no longer what it used to be. Gone are the long socks and try to find XXL sized underwear, no chance. I used to be XL but my chest muscles (laugh) have gone south and settled around my middle to make me XXL. The quality of M&S has also gone south and the price has generally gone north. My wife has now bought several metres of elastic in an endeavour to resurrect the best of what’s still serviceable.
C&A socks and pants for me, and their denim jeans are pertty good too.
In fact all their clothing is ok.
Might change my user name to ‘Man at C&A’
Or there’s the lumberjack song…
“My father was a nun.”
“How’s that?”
“When he was up before the judge in court, they asked him for his occupation, and replied ‘nun’”.
You can still buy multipacks of one colour. That’s the good news, the bad news is, you have to venture into Primark. Best done midweek, out of school holidays and between 11 and 12. Knicks are the only things I ever buy in Primani, because , like you I want a pack of one colour.
It is absolutely appalling that M &S don’t let us order from their UK website and haven’t for some time.
I went to my local hyper Inter and looked at knickers for you, packs of 3 white cotton Petit Bateau, ditto Sloggi, packs of 3 Dim 1 of each white black and ‘flesh’, loads of other brands too. Everything from barely there to megaknickers. Not all right next to each other, there’s brand segregation. Loads of bras too. Luckily I had forgotten my telephone so I didn’t look like the weirdie taking underwear pics.
Tchibo does similar if you have access to Germany shops or pickup/ collect address from Tchibo.de plus a few other countries no longer UK nor France.
Cut can be really good in some models - very flattering, some models also last a long time, seamless models do appear and more sets than other budget brands. Slightly higher price than Lidl but still a small fraction of the cost of the lovely brands I used to go to Printemps or Galeries Lafayette for.
We have a C&A store in Carcassonne. I was quite surprised when I discovered it as I didn’t know they had a French operation.
Pretty sure the M&S opposite Printemps in Paris became a C & A soon after M&S went
I buy mine from M and S online. Have found it a pretty slick operation, stuff usually arrives here in Normandy in three or four days. Next online is good too, but I don’t buy their knickers. I wish I could find somewhere that does knee length A line skirts though.
I clearly need to go to some large shops - all the ones in the area around us are relatively small, apart from the appalling and useless Casino. I feel a trip to St Lo coming on! Thanks @vero
We popped into leclerc today, wife took a look at knickers with a view to picking up a couple of pairs. 13+ Euros each for what she thought very poor quality. I then mentioned this thread.
Any contributions from Mrs AM will be appreciated
Poor woman, she doesn’t even know us and we want her to discuss her undies
I’ve had some good and bad buys from Lidl, ditto supermarket ones. Should maybe fork out more on a proper brand. Will be watching feedback with interest.
I ditched all my underwire bras as my sisters oncologist recommended and struggling to find well lasting ones that my boobs don’t pop out of at random moments the best one was from Lidl, fits really well and the girls stay where they should
Socks are another bug bear here, I have bought all sorts and they are all crap where I still have Aussie socks, that did a year or two on the maternity ward still going strong! I may be sending @vero with a shopping list
And don’t get me started on bed linen
You’ve been saving up that picture haven’t you?
