@Rachel05 kindly messaged me to let me know that @David_Spardo has been AWOL for a few days. I’ve been so busy with work and boomerang child this week I’d not noticed. I checked his profile and saw that indeed no posts or visits for 3 days. I of course called straight away. It turns out he has just gone and had a heart attack!!! I’m very cross with him for behavior like that! He had been having pain for up to 10 days before but eventually it was so bad on Monday morning that he called 15 and was taken straight to hospital and had 2 stents put in. He now feels great and is hoping to be let out tomorrow (echo first to check all OK).
I won’t tell the full story as he’ll hopefully be back with us tomorrow and he can fill you in. I just wanted to let everyone know and wish him the best recovery possible! Turns out he’d lost my number when he fell in the river so we’ve now sorted that out!
Thank you for the update. Really sorry to hear about David. Thank goodness he was in a position to get rapid help. I’m looking forward to his return to the forum with a new lease of life!
Oh my goodness that is a shock to hear that news. Thankfully a good outcome and hopefully soon be home in his beloved part of France. Sending good vibes.
Thanks Tory for letting us know. And @Rachel05 for noticing all was not well. So good that there are people in his life to look out for him.
And @David_Spardo (when you are reading this) hope all now well and that you and the dog(s?) are being well looked after. Here’s to a full and speedy recovery.
Yes, I trust all is well now. A while back, I had one stent and it was truly 20 minutes of bewilderment followed by four days of being pampered by a team of really nice icu team!
I wonder David, if you had chest pains or was it indigestion?
I ask as in my case, I suddenly developed indigestion that kept coming back. I thought little of it and bought some Gaviscon that helped, but not a lot. So I had the bright idea of popping into A&E to see if I could get something stronger. Four hours later I was on my back with a doctor feeding a stent into my leg!
He told me after that continual indigestion is an indication of lower heart issue. He then went on to lambast Gaviscon as a killer drug by masking the problem. So please, everyone, if you have continual indigestion, bypass the Gaviscon and go to hospital…
I go cold at hearing Davids heart attack, on his own thats even more worrying, well done Rachel and Toryroo!
Our friend was taking that for 3 days, we met them for lunch and I said that stuff can kill you, indegestion shouldnt last more than 1 meal or drinking session. Following day massive heart attack, luckily he lives near to Harefield hospital which specialise in heart issues. There are warning signs we need to be aware of for friends as well. I didnt recognise my brothers symptoms of a stroke (TIA) because he has a heart condition and I wrongly thought that was the problem. Still good to give soluble aspirin I believe.
Oh my! I add my thank you to @toryroo for letting us all know and @Rachel05 for looking out, and a HUGE wish to @David_Spardo to get well soon and return safely home. I am sure the doggos need him!
