A lot of departments have suffered from drought, so mustn’t complain…

When I told my neighbour that I was fed up of seeing photos of South West England with blue skies and sunshine on FB she wouldn’t believe me. She thinks that England suffers the grey, wet conditions that we’ve endured this winter all year round.

Ha ha… I remember in UK one time… after a “drought” the meteo said it would take several years to replenish underground water supplies…

silly lot… it didn’t stop raining for ages after that and folk were flooded out…

The River Lot which runs through our farm is been over the bank’s for nearly 2 weeks now meaning that we now have up to 4 Heron’s and numerous Little Egrets feeding on worms in the fields next to the river.

Yes, Michael… a major change of some sort… and we suddenly see wildlife where it has not been so evident before… make the most of it… probably get a dry spell with scorpions next… :fearful:

Hunker down everyone…

anyone on the Forum in Corsica ???

The last few winters we have been getting a lot of rain here in Basse Normandie, but this year is the worst yet. The ground is now saturated and the water table has risen to just 20 cm below our doorstep. On past experience, we will need a month of dry weather before the situation returns to near normal.
But compared to real disasters in other parts of the world, we have nothing to complain about. Daffodil leaves are beginning to appear in our flooded garden!

We have had sleet and more rain here in the Clunysois, at the moment it is blowing a hooley.

We’ve started rounding up the animals in 2’s…

Sounds wonderful Barbara… what a relief from all the wet.

We’ve a little sunshine too, not sure how long it will last but the washing machine is going strong…

Wife just came rushing into the lounge to say she’s just seen a strange bright thing in the sky.

Stella, in case you didn’t know:
The song, called “Prisencolinensinainciusol,” was written to mimic the way English sounds to non-English speakers.
