Weed killers, what are you using these days?

Sorry, but.

I’m a pussy cat really, but with zero tolerance of BS.

I don’t know what BS means, and I’m not ashamed of it. Open & Move, you’ll feel better then. Nettle is blindly more than safer, healthier, unlike the magnificent “Queen of poisons” among far other Nature values, promised (if only deserved…). And watch this Unique movie The Big Lebowski, Official Trailer | The Big Lebowski | Screen Bites - YouTube as nobody can dislike it : LET-IT-GO. Cheers !

Not sure, but my guess is BullShit

BS, BullShit. Sounds like logically, wouldn’t waste time to search for. Merci ! Nature : BullShit, really ? We Are Nature, full of molecules ourselves, for Billions of years & on & on fortunately…Fears would be better to be admitted in real fact, no shame at all. Anyway, hope you’ll having a good time all of you with “good wine sometimes”, me it’ll be : coconut liquor. Seriously, no blame. Alright. Healing is not only about plants, far from that among. Life is all evolution…

There’s more to Life than this, and I always learn myself regarding this very beautiful language named english, kind of obsessive since childhood. Both are indeed ! Is it you, Mark, who lives near a very beautiful & vital stream ? “Profitable” gites full of decorated hearts inside with a white dog obviously ? I am searching myself for a “Moulin” to buy as soon as money will enough arrive, guaranteed vital Water near…it’s a very handsome place where you live for the the few I saw on your website, handsome and Vital with the coming awesome changes (already starting, heat/drought/blazes…). Don’t leave, stay. The stream along your garden will be your survival…no joke. Cheers, Santé (we always say “health” in french in that friendly “alcoholic” situation which is very relevant in that specific “plant” situation as well… !). Santé, so

When the ‘nettle tea’ concoction has a ‘strong odeur’ its time to add a little to your watering can
amd apply to plants that require fertilizet.

Also as a purin it’s great for getting rid of aphids, and good tomato feed for early stage (once they flower swap to comfrey), great for many butterflies and all round good garden egg. I can handle a nettle and cheese muffin/scone, but that’s it’s nettle’y limit in our repertoire. Particularly as patches of nettle in areas where nettles aren’t common part of flora tends to mean it’s where people pee. Nettles are good to fix nitrogen, but also like nitrogen rich soil to grow in. And pee is full of it and potassium.

If your compost heap is lifeless, encourage people to pee in it!

Randomly : it seems that this beautiful Moulin is in sale on Leboncoin while making personal research, if not totally wrong (looks so similar externally & internally, with a similar dog on a picture & same location also ). If it’s the weird case : sorry to have said “don’t leave, stay” in another reply. “Bonne continuation à vous” regarding another good place to find,

Strong smell to say the least. Fermentation indeed for 2-3 weeks, same process for “pest repellent” use. Another easier way is to simply put fresh Nettle directly on the earth (also in the compost) during the Autumn, letting it spreading for rainy months underground in preparation for a enriched spring/summer. Soil & plants adore it (more productive), as much as herbivores manure. Miam-miam (yum-yum),

Pee in a compost & more, Champagne ! It reminds me a house with a small garden a long time ago now (and a magnificent Acacia along the bedroom, just imagine the mesmerizing smell…), where NO grass grew at all for 30 years according to the landlord who lived there as a child, despite all the chemical efforts years after years. Brown, naked, “deadful” soil : in 2 years, Velvetly Greenery everywhere so far that I had to catch the landlord’s falling jaw. Magic Pee (not mine at this time, pets : useful reciprocity, deserved !), definitely animal pee as no other reason it could be. In the cycle of Life, Nature : nothing is wasted, everything has a use in the living process. Fascinating really, anyway :

“Pipi” outdoors is such an Enriching hard-to-live-without-then activity at any level, yet the other side https://www.amazon.fr/How-Shit-Woods-Environmentally-Approach/dp/1494551187 being best out of the plot/garden. Takes too long to biologically decompose if from chemical omnivores, but in being an organic vegan : it could/should work slightly better, no ? Not truly tempted so far…

Lastly, did wild fruits syrups recently as well as Lavender, and some jasmine to come : so as a creative, easy, useful idea, why not nettle syrup ? Jam if any very-sugary food lover…Nettle’s good as a hair rinse (like apple vinegar) to stimulate blood circulation, hence combat hair loss among. Oh, I forgot, I do a lot of ointments which takes no longer than 2 months to macerate in varying oils of your own choice (coconut, being one of them). The biggest one being a mixture of wild mint & nettle : smells a lot mint, far less “hay”. The association is quite obvious in stepping back, because they wildly grow together. Both indeed have qualities to improve blood circulation, digestive dynamic, headaches relief as a living proof. Practice is best judge,

We always learn, and there’s sooo much to learn. Plants world is huge, be very careful also…Aren’t we going astray from the original question ? Next : Dandelion, let’s Go

So…noe_river… forgive me for wondering this, but are you tripping on something?

Could it be the toxins in the nettles, those stings cant be good?

So does Red Wine or red grape juice. Much more satisfying to drink.

Reminds me - extreme drought is proving a highly effective weedkiller! All our gravel areas are completely bare.

“Tripping on” : trébucher sur. Would it be good to have more of details about this. For any further information, Nettle is not venemous. Anyway, very good to be self-honest when any detoxification to be done,

Tripping over = trébucher sur.
Tripping on = planer grace à.
“What are you tripping on?” = “Qu’est-ce que tu fumes?”, plus ou moins.

De l’importance de la postposition en anglais :slightly_smiling_face:

How about just leave out the nettles?

I have tried to make it, back in the post-hippy 70’s “Food For Free” and all that. I succeeded in making green dishwater.

I have an apron in front of the house and a path up the side, of bricks. There’s no way it is going to look like the lovely wild flower paths around Balmoral, which grow [carefully planted, I’m sure] in the cracks between the crazy paving. It just looks like the back areas of the Elephant & Castle council tower blocks.

I have bought a flagon of vinegar. What else do I add to this to get a result?

Depending on strength from nothing to an equal volume of water.

Edit: unless it’s one of the highly concentrated bidons of acetic acid in which case dilute it to about 7% and remember add acid to water not the other way around and wear gloves, eye protection and a face mask and cover exposed skin - but basically avoid the stuff, really.

Edit2: Depending on type of plant maybe some surfactant as @hairbear suggests below. Definitely an idea if trying to deal with ivy.

Chips?

Savon noir, just a cap full per litre. As BB says, depends upon the strength. I use 15% vinegar bought in 5l containers and tend to dilute it to about half that.
