What are you up to this week?

On the basis of your cycling experience, I agree, best you avoid it :joy:

Wishing you a fast recovery AM. I know how destabilising dizziness is.

Ouch! Not fun.

We’d better cancel your Tour de France entry this year then. I will phone Groupama - FDJ and let them know.

Hey!
Yeah same here, sun really makes everything feel better! This week I’m just busy with some work stuff and trying to stay focused. Got a few online tasks to finish, and maybe I’ll squeeze in a walk if the weather stays good. Sounds like you had a productive weekend! Good luck with that admin list

I was part of the Royal Parks team that did Chelsea in 1976 - the very, very hot year. A lot of hard work - I remember particularly running through slippy, slidey hailstones to get the hostas uncover.

But yes great fun and the gold medal helps.

I spent that summer working in the book packing/shipping department of Foyle’s bookshop in Charing Cross road - down in the basement!

Hmm, this week, starting today? Finish packing, selling my car, donating my RV, driving (5 hours) to Houston, Flying to Paris, driving to Limoges, overnighting and “essentials” shopping, then driving to Castelnaudary to round out the week on Friday. Just a few things!

Just done the opposite trip. Landed in Dallas from CDG yesterday afternoon for a visit to our two son’s and their families. One week in Deep East Texas and then a week in Dallas. So far I haven’t seen a lot of difference from our Christmas trip actually less Trump signs in the usual bastions of his supporters and if DFW traffic is any indication the economy is booming

Indeed, spent that summer in Morocco…

So today a busy day in the garden, and the kitchen also smells of freshly baked bread and smoked cheese. Tonight at a friend’s combined 30th anniversary and 21st & 18th for their children. Hoping to do more work on the zine over the next couple of days, Tuesday taking the grandson out.

3 days of work, then the weekend again.

My brother has shown at Chelsea a few times on behalf of Ransomes mowers.

One year he did a display of what a good and bad lawn should look like.
Having set up his stand he was tidying up his allocated storage area and was approached by an exhibitor desperate for some lawn turf. He didnt give my brother chance to explain that the his spare turf waa for a bad lawn!

I lived for a while in an apartment in a mediaeval hall in Cumbria whose wonderfully feisty, ‘old school’ lady owner used to cut the grass on the ‘tennis court’ (the net had long disappeared) with a sort of steam punk lawn mower that used giant shears rather than a rolling blade.

Part of the mediaeval cobbled courtyard had collapsed beneath an elderly Volvo Estate that still lay at the bottom of the sinkhole. Its successor, that had later failed its MOT, was quietly rusting above ground next to the then current Volvo Estate that, presumably would eventually join its precursors.

Yes - we had a holiday in Kenya (I worked for British Airways at the time and the first class fare cost us £30 ea return!!) so we were able to top up our tans when the hot summer ended.

Just do remember that Thursday is a public holiday in France. Most things will be shut after 12h.
Bon voyage :flight_departure::flight_arrival:

That’s very good advice. I’ve checked the big supermarkets in Limoges (which I think is your Thursay destination) and they’re either closed all day or close at 12h30. You might be wise to find a shop close to your departure point.
