To all the kind folk who referenced ACTION, merci 1,000 coups. Lifesaver for “basics” to make my Airbnb comfortable. Dog beds :white_check_mark:, dog food bin :white_check_mark:, laundry basket :white_check_mark:, tension rod and curtain for a too-sunny door window (in this heat) :white_check_mark:, and most importantly, two tower fans :white_check_mark:! Now off to BricoMarche for some other stuff.

For winter evenings, get some of their 1000-piece jigsaws at €2,99 each, they are pretty well made and fiendishly difficult. I also get my yearly diary inthere around November, a big one with a week laid out over two pages and around €2 as against €8+ elsewhere.

ha ha… that comment made me reach for my Diary… just like yours, the week is spread over 2 (facing) pages.

Mine costs 7,99€ but it does have Recipes as well…

Thanks Jane - sorry just seen this. it ended up being 5 in the end !
we also got best construction on 2 gardens; and best small show garden…
such a good team of people this year…
I was only 5 in 1976 ! but I seem to remember lady birds being everywhere ! and also my mum swooning over Borg in the Wimbledon finals.

Resistance is futile.

Oh sorry, wrong Borg…

That’s a lot of butter for a demi-baguette

That’s a lot of demi baguette for such a small piece of butter :grinning:

That’s a lot of vodka for someone who hasn’t had to deal with ANTS yet.

I’m rather concerned… that knife doesn’t look to be correctly positioned… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think that is the correct amount of butter…if you have ever lived in the US, and had to endure what is sold as butter, come to France, and see a mile long aisle of so many delicious :yum::yum::yum: butters , then the butter feeding frenzy commences.

I agree with @Stella about the positioning of the knife and yes, more vodka needed in order to forget about AnTs. :stuck_out_tongue:

That looks really delicious @DrSukie - pity you don’t live nearer. I would definitely enjoy what’s on your table. Nothing wrong with the butter either!
Did you enjoy the market - they are usually a source of supply for lots of food items as well as other goodies.
And how are your dogs settling in - do you have any photos of them you can post (in Dog Photos only section perhaps).
Keep us updated on how you are settling down. Life is a little different now to what you’ve been used to in Texas, I’m sure it’s not so hectic. Take care, Rachel xx

@DrSukie I’m sure (at least I hope) that you realise we’ve been teasing you by referring to other threads in relation to your photo of what looks like a delicious meal… :+1:

For better or worse, teasing is a sure sign that you’re “one of us” …
