Where's me Balloon?

pop, boom, peep hiss, loud farts, oh the skies are alive with the sound of punctures...

aw, go on then!

nope - shoot 'em all down. plenty of arrows here in my quiver and the archers of perigord in nearby cadouin will certainly wish to play too...

Hi Christine, nice to hear must be nice to be recognised.....and Brian of Loxley, thank you for your offer of becoming Balloon Shooter extraordinaire, but hold hard....I have carried out a little further investigation, you have to apply your OWN balloon, yeah, quite a canny little graphical interface allows you to navigate a balloon ( free ) to tether it where you want.

Ha! Ido feel so foolish. Anyways, the control tool takes a little getting used to, I felt a bit like a Montgolfier, guiding her in, no brakes, slinging all the sand bags out. But yes mission accomplished, there she is, flying hi now for all to see.

But is that the end of the saga? No sir, the real story is that of injustice, recognition, and outcasts. Just being seen and heard....perhaps from time to time we should not just check our own balloons, but those of our neighbours and fellow human beings. Think on it, go on phone your Mum, call in on a neighbour, buy that lucky heather, make a donation to a worthy charity.... do it, the sky's the limit!

Must be pain making me go off on fantasies - but there I was just imagining my agent contacting me about the development of the next generation of 'balloon-slayer' software...

I think I have found a new enterprise! I shall offer my services, plus my longbow of course, to shoot down all unwanted balloons for a small consideration.

After reading this I was forced to go & look for me on the map! I`m glad to say that not only was I there, but I am stll standing more or less alone. Not that many balloons in the Auvergne..& long may it last I say :))

I cast a glance myself once - I harrumphed! I think we should have boomerangs for the ones who come and go and little November 5 type rockets for people who have said they are leaving - that will give some contrast and variety. Being an archer for many years, once the confounded shoulder is mended I shall shoot mine down. That volume of material looks like a lot of mulching sheets for a year when gardening appears to be largely off the menu - well spuds and the like for sure. More tents for the kids in the field - the potential is enormous...
