Whats a collective noun for Kestrel? A flutter?

What a treat :hugs: . We had baby Kestrel few years ago, in a tree next to the house. We sadly see less Kestrel this year. I don’t know why. Here is a pic of baby Swallows I took in my parent utility room next door. Will try another pic in few days when they will have a bit more feathers on !

I’ve got a swallow in the space in between my bedroom and bathroom that leads to the back garden and then through the gate and into my wilderness…there is no nest and it wasn’t here last summer so I don’t know why…I did have two but now just the one…I try to encourage it to roost outside but if it’s raining too hard then I feel sorry for it…It’s in here again tonight and I’ve left it too late to encourage it to go outside…it obviously doesn’t like the dark…so that’s my alarm clock set…at the break of dawn it will be twittering and cheeping and chirruping waiting for me to open the back door…x

I had to remove a tree frog from my shower yesterday morning. Wasn’t, alas. compos mentis enough to photograph it so you will just have to take my word for it that it was very sweet !

A couple of swallows moved into a place in Portugal I was renovating, before I got the doors and windows fixed, so I had them whizzing above me, over the bed in the morning :slightly_smiling_face:

I love the birds…but something wonderful about the aerobatic performances of swallows…like many birds they appear to mate for life…and come back year after year to the same spot to raise their little ones…that’s what puzzles me about this one (who were once two)…the only thing I can think of is that my next door neighbours have recently had their attic insulated so I imagine that maybe all their previous entrance points have now been blocked off and in their confusion my open back door seems a reasonable alternative…it’s in here again tonight…it’s getting to know the routine…made it’s self comfortable for the night…x
