Ha ha, I went shopping with the 2nd Lady Spardo and we came home with 2 wedding dresses, cost of each was a fiver. 
Moral. Never pay attention to tradition.

FWIW I helped my wife choose hers - a wedding dress hire business was going bust because the owners were divorcing.

Yes and I did have one of those for a while. Nowadays with new battery tech we could do hot milk and cooked food
