None of the above - except I presume your ‘etranger’ reference number should stay the same, the card number might change because it’s a different card?
Two weeks after our visit to the Préféture to submit our applications, my husband has had an sms to request he come and collect his new card on January 7
Nothing about mine
Maybe I upset them by requesting my married name be added?
Yes, both my husband’s and mine expire January 11.
The difference between us is that I was born in Quebec, Canada while my husband was born in UK. I have been however a British passport holding national since birth.
I intend to just tag along to my husband’s appoirment and if I have to stand outside the Préfécture waiting for him because I have no invite to enter, then so be it.
That shouldn’t make any difference. However, we’ve had quite a few reports now where partners have gone to the same rdv and found that their cards are ready as well, so has to be worth a try.
It would if it was Perigueux, we went together only to discover by their surprise, that only one of us had been invited. But the lady immediately went to her filing cabinet and retrieved Fran’s too so we were both done at the same time.
My update, for @kim and anyone else who may need to visit their Préfécture at Avignon.
Braved a sunny but -2C with windy gusts of 50kph to visit on the appointed day for collection of our 10 yr cards. SMS from the Préfécture said we should visit between 08:30 and 11:00. We thought 10:00 would be good. Sat on a chilly metal bench in the jolly company of ~ 30 Magrebi men, women and children for ½ hour.
Critically, we were thermy husband’s appointed date. Mine was (unaccountably) set for the following day. Once my husband had been handed his card, I asked the friendly lady if it would be possible to complete mine. File duly found from behind and my new card handed over. Even got my married name in this time!!
All told, a very successful experience.
Good morning Susannah, Thanks for the update. Can I ask if your 10 year carte de sejour was automatically granted by your prefecture, or did you have to apply by filling in a form?
Good Frosty Morn! We had 5yr WA cards expiring January 10. We applied directly to the Préfécture, filled out the forms obtained online, visited once with our dossiers holding the required copies of all ID, and then waited for the SMS to tell us what date we could collect the new 10yr cards.
No language tests or other hurdles required. And, no charge!
From scanning the thread there is one reference to renewal in Côte d’Or. When I attended to my rdv for renewal I was asked for 3-years of impot submissions, luckily I had 5-years with me.
I asked the reason why as it is not in the email; the reason was the concern that a number of persons received brexit cards that they were not entitled to, not only 5-year cards but 10-year cards.
They sold their maison secondaire 3 years ago but have made several visits to France since then, sailing through the border waving their fraudulently obtained residency cards.
I await the frantic call when they are fined for having France ‘residents’ car license plates, nor insurance.
And one day soon AI may be able to whizz through a cross reference of registered residents against fisc payments
Thanks very much for sharing this. I will take my tax documents now just in case! Did you by any chance point out their demand was not in line with the guidelines? Wondering what their explanation would be…
