Baffling mysteries

I thought for a moment you were offering another mystery to ponder before noticing it was a reply to DrM

Why do pigeons wander around the middle of the road? And why do partridges run up our farm track in front of our car rather than flying out the way?

… and why do Cumbrian pheasants think it’s a good idea to use the outside lane of the M6?

Perhaps it’s something to do with them all being rather good to eat…

More flavour than brain?

There are no more deserving birds of the classification of ā€žbird brainā€œ

Why do sanglier run in front of cars?

That cost Axa €22,000.

I haven’t found a way to copy it yet, but a friend just sent me a short video of a crow using a piece of cardboard as a sledge on a snowy bank. He wasn’t very good at it, fell off several times, but fair play he was persistant, kept carrying it back in his beak up to the top.

Why is it that the bit of the map you want to look at is always on the page edge or the crease?

I know, who uses maps these days? As both Google maps and our in-car satellite system went crazy this morning we were glad of the map book - except for the fact that each place we wanted to look at in detail was in the crease!

When you get stuck on the last few answers of a crossword why is it that when you return to it the answers are obvious.

Because your brain has been working on it as a background task.

I’ve been doing the laundry lately, and this has happened twice now. Put the duvet cover and pillowcases in the washing machine , duvet buttoned up. Go to get it out, its turned itself inside out with the pillowcases inside an impossible to undo football shaped knot :rage::rage:

Ridiculous! When I’m cleaning the cottage and need my phone with me because my guests ring me to let me know their arrival time I need my phone in a back pocket, not my handbag!
