EV - buy or wait?

Yes probably better to wait for a model better suited :joy:

…till they offer it in blue too?

I suspect less that 5% give a damn about Harleys or Porsches :slightly_smiling_face: I’ve no doubt the bombastic bullshitter Clarkson would agree, as would any genuine petrolhead. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, but they are both really only rebadged Audis with more expensive options. I like the Macon’s 100kWh battery though.

Every little helps. Though not buying because it’s shit is a better reason.

Just had €40 refund deposited in my bank from the insurance company, Not earth shattering but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I’ve been quite pleased to see significant reductions in my vehicle insurance costs since moving out of Ile de France.

This stood out for me in the article though.

It is also said to be durable enough to withstand dozens of charge/discharge cycles.

Dozens isn’t very impressive, so to get it to hundreds or more will probably needa lot more work.

Journalists eh? Hopefully more information from someone with a bit more insight but good to see progress, so they can make further progress on version 2.0

I’ve just read the paper and it’s a bit thin. Also, they have only tested this in a small cell weighing around 0.2g so it’s just a proof of concept try out. The energy density quoted is theoretical rather than measured.

As are most of the revolutions, have to start somewhere, the clever bit is scaling up for mass production. Just one hurdle at a time but as the other lot havent got past reciprocating pistons and valve trains its still progress

Not all technologies pass this particular hurdle

I’ve seen lots of photos and videos of the bright yellow and bright green Renault Fives and I’ve seen a few green ones in the flesh. Today I drove by the small Renault dealer in our town and was surprised to see a dark blue one parked outside. It looked lovely, really lovely.

I agree, I’m really quite tempted especially as my wife has intimated that she wants to drive again. Though I’m slightly concerned that, when I asked her to step on the brake so that I could check the trailer lights, she asked which one that was. :scream:

I just looked and seems they only come in green, white, black or yellow.

Don’t be silly, I always ask that, it gets confusing when one has to think about it :rofl::rofl:. I’m a good driver that started at 10 (large Aussie farm) too! She’ll be fine,!

No I have a dark blue one.

Which site did you look at? The Renault.fr site shows yellow, green, black, blue and white. Perhaps different markets don’t have the same choice.
