and remember, that if the GJs hadn’t been pelting them with cobble stones and worse, there would have been no reason for them to respond with lawful crowd control tactics

I hear your point of view and hate also when a community loses yet another small business for whatever reason, this case being all the worse as they were employing handicapped and giving them a go at a real job . I myself will be running into a fifth year of an annually renewable five year contract as a travailler handicapé (hoping to get a fixed place after this). I understand your thoughts on grave disruption in Périgueux , although The GJ revolt started on roundabouts with them trying to inform other general public of their intentions and their anger at a failing diplomatic system leaving an ever increasing number of the population ( unemployed, working class, middle class, retired, handicapped, able bodied…) unable to put food in their fridges. Unfortunately when a part of a population are in revolt not everyone is going to be happy with the demonstrations .
Getting back to local actions , the GJ in the Dordogne have decided since about a month now to March as one group on a Saturday, changing the ville or village every weekend. To my knowledge there have been no blockages at any roundabouts in Périgueux for a quite a long time now.
Finally I would just like to turn your attention to the attachment I posted with this note. Hoping that this will brighten up the subject a little.

Thank you for pointing that out Simon , my bad. I had an image of black people drowning in the Mediterranean and Italy sending them away in my head as I wrote my comment , but yes they would have been from Tchad or Sudan.
As to my Facebook message , this was an attempt at me trying to be polite , I think that messenger and Facebook are for public use . Oh well , I take it you didn’t bother reading it either so I’ll leave a copy here . Have a nice weekend Simon !

I like to think that the actions which have disrupted local life… are seriously coming to an end.
I know, our school cook will be delighted when she no longer has to take the longer back routes to go shopping for fresh produce Mondays and Wednesdays … at our nearest small town.

I love your take on the ‘’jilly Jones’’ . I joined that group thanks if only to run through it and look for any Brit bashing comments. Didn’t find any , not surprised though. This group have a Facebook page too with only 5000 ish members/ likes . I could post you one fb group with 316,000 members or another with 170,000 or another count group with 1.8 million . But you seem to have found your ‘jilly Jones’ group all by yourself . All that said, be it 5000 or 5000000 , I didn’t find any Brit bashing comments . Your safe. Have a nice weekend

I don’t know about Simon (although I can guess) but I find it in very poor taste to post someone’s profile detail on Facebook when the user has himself declared he is not interested in extending his on-line ‘family’.

So sorry , but I don’t get what the bashing is about. It was a private message on Facebook, not a request to join his family and I didn’t mention it here to belittle anyone. My only intention was staying polite. I have not posted any link to anyone’s facebook. Anyone can just type in a name though, it’s not private. Wasn’t expecting the Facebook police to turn up , just because someone has a different point of view. How very petty . Now go get reporting me to whoever . Lol

Still don’t see any Facebook link , I see a screenshot with no more information than that of which is already posted on this forum . Oh dear. Who do you think you are? Wasn’t childish on your behalf ? I would like to think that we are all at least equal and have freedom of speech.
I will post some updates from today’s ‘activity’ in Toulouse but, in the meantime, this article makes pretty grim reading. Hard to believe it refers to a modern, European city in the 21st century. So very sad
