I picked up a flight for £100 the month following 9/11 when nobody wanted to fly. Wonderful, very different and interesting trip.
I got to see the Buena Vista Social Club band at Warwick University. They were a phenomenon responsible for much growth in tourism in Cuba. Must revisit sometime.

Django was an incredible plyer. And it’s amazing that he was able to relearn to play guitar after losing the use of the fourth and fifth fingers of his left hand, which were severely burned in a fire. This is the only video I’ve ever seen of him playing.
