As I suspected a lot of Americans support Trump. Just read a few posts on FB about how we should be treated for not supporting him and his illegal war. Farcical, apparently lots of us europeans are in favour of Trump, I did ask what they were smoking?
The markets have found a new nickname. From La Tribune.
The damage Trump and his omnipotent personal actions are having for America’s global position are being revealed

Weakness of the US forces is being compounded by Trump’s stupid animosity

“the war in Iran has provided a road map for any country that wants to resist the United States in the future, including Russia and North Korea.” And China*.*
Perception of US might has been an important factor in maintaining global balance of power. This is now in jeopardy. The accumulated damage wrought by this one man.
Much the same has been demonstrated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The words ‘paper tigers’ come to mind.
We should remember that the only thing that makes a country a super power is the number of nuclear weapons it has and the number of its own people it is prepared to sacrifice.
I think Trump, if he thinks logically at all, must be considering the Russian plight and comparing it to his own
Do I speak for all, or most of us, when I say that, I for one, will be instantly delighted and relieved, and I will cheer, the day that Trump is declared dead, or unfit to continue with the presidency of the USA – out of office for good? I know that there are others who will take over, but whoever they are we at least will be free of a 10-year long worldwide era of a madman who is constantly in the news, plaguing our lives in so many different ways.
WW1 & WW2 affected peoples’ lives across the world in their respective eras, and in other calamities and sufferings around the world, but we are now going through the Trumpian era I suppose it will be called, which I hope will be thoroughly clean washed out of the failing American system, once sanity resumes and takes its place.
I know others can express this far better than I, but I can only express how I feel in the way I have.
There was a survey mentioned in the press yesterday where 59% of Americans think Trump is unfit to be president. What will it take for his VP and cabinet to do something?
Grow spines..!
This is the other survey. They specifically asked about mental and physical capacity rather than general satisfaction.
Only 59%, are they mad?
Still leaves 41% who may think like him though. ![]()
1% skipped the question, so 40% think like him. ![]()
But he’s a wonderful president. Possibly the most wonderful president the world has ever seen…wibble wibble fade out to incoherence
Some of them may not have understood the question
Presumably all the 59% that think he is not fit, also disapprove of his presidency. However it doesn’t follow that all those who think he is still capable necessarily approve of what he’s doing.
According to the WaPo, the US has fired more interceptors than Israel itself to protect the country during the war with Iran. They aren’t getting pompous lectures about not pulling their wieght though. ![]()
To summarize what has happened in the last few days in my dysfunctional country…
There were 2 Republican primaries of note. One was for the Senate seat held by Senator Bill Cassidy, who was, at least , a reasonable guy, at one time, years ago. He was one of the handful of Republican Senators who voted to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial. Then he spent the last 2 years trying to do everything he could to please the mafia boss. Including voting to confirm the quack RFK, jr - and Cassidy is an MD.
Trump never forgave him and endorsed a MAGA replacement. Cassidy lost his seat.
In the House, Rep Thomas Massie lost his seat. He was one of the few Republican reps who called for the release of the Epstein files and pushed back on a few other things ( I think Iran). He lost his primary to a more MAGA replacement.
Coming up on Tuesday, Sen John Cornyn of Texas has a primary battle against a particularly vile MAGA opponent, endorsed by Trump. This guy is so bad (Paxton, AG of Texas) he may lose to the Democrat in the general election.
It just gets worse.
The only good thing is that as these more rational old school Republicans lose their seats, they have no qualms any more about opposing Trump, like normal, rational people would. Of course, they are getting death threats…
It’s all a bit depressing, isn’t it?
They have completely lost their minds. When I look at some of the crazy shit people write on X I just wonder how they can be so stupid and gullible.
I know.
I gave up on X because people there are so poisonous and can’t even log in now.
