Perhaps it’s just how my mind works but I don’t see the relevance of the piece in bold to operational independence or anything really.
It makes sense to me that the designers would build in safeguards to prevent anyone from targeting a missile at the USA, given that today’s ally can quite easily become tomorrow’s adversary, regardless of who maintains it.
I still do have a nagging doubt though as, while never officially confirmed as far as I know, the 2016 DASO failure is believed to have been human failure in the targeting data and that missile was destroyed as it was heading towards the US mainland.
So he’s throwing around tariffs at countries that don’t agree that he can have Greenland. Americans who buy UK products will pay an extra 10% for now and 25% if we don’t capitulate by June.
Does he really mean all this or is it a distraction from Epstein?
Europe really needs to get tough with the US, and do what China and Japan did in response to Trumps tarif threats. If they did, the markets in the US would piss thier pants.
I can’t point to anything just yet with any certainty, but in my bones, along with LBC’s Matthew Wright, I feel that there’s a possible beginnings of a blow back.
Will King Charles visit Trump later this year for example? We shall see, and maybe that would be an indicator of things to come. I hope the visit’s cancelled.

He is like a kid who, when nobody agrees with him, stamps his foot and takes away his ball. Best thing is to ignore such behaviour and bring our own ball. Oh, and practise ‘Nerr’, seems to be the only playground stuff he reacts to.
If only it was that simple, had we not been in the middle of a conflict (Russia and Ukraine) then the options would be easier, unfortunately, the UK, the EU and many NATO countries have to balance taking a tough stance publicly with the reality that without US support Ukraine could really be in trouble.
