I see no point whatsoever in trying to discuss vaccination with anti vaxxers, it is like discussing horoscopes or belief in religion etc with people who believe in that sort of thing, it is impossible to agree since it’s a discussion based on different premises, and therefore pointless. So I don’t bother.
@vero
Vero, I agree, but had to remind myself after posting something, then decided to delete it after; As you say, it’s a different foundation.
Whilst I agree with you Veronique, I do like to listen to opposing views and also to try and understand the motivation.
In this case every antivaxer I have spoken to is illogical, superstitious, irrational and incapable of basic understanding of vaccines and how through the ages they have and are saving many many lives.
Turning the spotlight onto antivaxers shows they are willing to lift all of their prejudices to enjoy things in their own lives that they are willing to go on marches to protest over.
It’s nothing new. People have been suspicious of vaccines since they were first invented. Fascinating read: https://www.sciencenews.org/article/vaccine-hesitancy-history-damage-anti-vaccination
Yes, I see I came over as a closedminded person - what I wrote actually describes the situation now after attempts to discuss opinions and ideas rationally and understand that point of view.
Yes indeed, I wasn’t criticising.
Peter Doshi writing in The British Medical Journal…
And it can’t be said it’s safe and effective for pregnant women as Moderna aren’t even starting their trial until July 22nd…
@tc123
Tom, there are some glaring gaps in the article you posted.
It gives the impression of being all-encompassing e.g timeline from 18thC etc, however it does neglect to mention that there has been deliberate and pre-meditated fraud related to vaccines/treatments.
e.g.
"CIA Says It Will No Longer Use Vaccine Programs As Cover"
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2014/05/20/314231260/cia-says-it-will-no-longer-use-vaccine-programs-as-cover?t=1626616481793
e.g. Tuskegee
Admittedly, these are both from the US, but I don’t think we should blindly accept that those in power have the best intentions for all of us all the time.
My concern with anti vaxers is that they insist on not watching the news on television but only on the internet. Everyone is better off researching both sides but not just one side which goes for pro vaccers as well. Rather than knock people with a ‘believe what you want’ or ‘the other side is to blame if we catch cv’ would it not be better to just read the post and research their point of view. There is and always has been since the 1800’s an agenda against the common people whether it be tax’s, fines, interest or even a corporation justice or government system to control and manipulate the population their way and if one researches one will find the direction is depopulation and communist control. I am neither for or against but both my brothers had a stroke the day after having their inoculations, coincidence? My sister works in covid centre and cannot find the simplest of things like the ingredients for any of the inoculations. My other sister works in a hospital and cannot find them. My niece is a microbiologist and also cannot find them so it was left to me a researcher and I did not llike what I found. So then went to moderna website, signed up as an investor, read the pdf on what I was investing in and found that the inoculation is not a vax but a synthetic patented gene therapy and whomsoever has the inoculation is now under their ownership (which means human rights do not apply) needless to say our family are not happy bunnies right now.
But they are alive!
So difficilt to find?
Communist control??
My grandfather was Gene Simmons’ therapist and my aunt used to polish his toenails, my niece developed a special fabric conditioner for his bedsheets so I know a thing or two about Gene therapy. My family are all very concerned that now the whole world will receive the therapy that was meant solely for Gene
Does this mean he is no longer special?
BBCResearcher1 please could you provide your first name and surname as per the terms and conditions of this forum. Thank you
@cat
Don’t be silly.
BBCResearcher1 sounds like a typical troll/bot name to me…
From the frontline. There is no way this is over.
This bit just sums it up for me:
Someone’s friend got some side-effects from the vaccine so she didn’t have it; guess which one of them ended up in hospital. Most of these people have the decency to look sheepish, or to describe themselves as “one of those idiots”.
Not all, mind: some remain defiant as they are wheeled off to intensive care, and their families deny that Covid itself exists even as their relative is placed on a ventilator.
How can you even begin to have a conversation with that as a starting point?
Upsets me reading about the staff, they are my friends, family (sister, SIL and BIL all nurses) and colleagues who are out there taking it on the chin. BIL and sister currently at home isolating as BIL has covid and is very sick. Sister thinks if he wasn’t vaccinated he’d be ventilated by now ashe is pretty sick even with it. His father died of covid in wave one.
I wonder how many people people ho are anti vac have lost? and how their attitudes change once they do?
So sorry to hear this. Sending them lots of strength and get better wishes.
Hope this tide of misinformation can be turned around and people choose solidarity rather than believing in quacks.
