What happens if the despot dies? Somehow I cannot imagine his close and trusted aides disclosing it to the world for some time, if at all and they continue to call the shots instead. Just a thought but a scary one that I have never seen discussed before. Apparently doubles have been used for visits, they will continue to be used no doubt as after the bomb at the weekend, he must actually be very scared to go out in public now, you just don’t know who has him in their sights and willing to die doing so.
I agree, but it’s a credibility issue. How can the Court be taken seriously when the man that has, arguably, caused more misery than any other since WWII still struts around in the US? Even an indictment with no chance of him ever coming before the Court would show evenhandedness. But pretending Iraq never happened isn’t a good look.
