The Ukraine situation, where will it end?

And woolly jumpers that glow in the dark

When @John_Scully began this thread, would anyone have thought the war Russia launched in Ukraine would still be so violent and bloody?

I heard Andrew Marr today and wondered if others may want to listen

Russia is surely counting on western support for Ukraine petering out. Meanwhile, an ever dwindling but valiant corp of soldiers are every day losing their limbs and lives. So many families destroyed.

Ukraine is fighting for the free world and deserves all the support we can give.

It is and we are doing exactly the right thing in spending money to support them. If only we had done that at the start of 2 world wars in support of Belgium and Poland instead of immediately getting involved at much greater cost in lives and treasure.

And, in the case of Poland, it wasn’t even liberated after all that effort.

Thinking back to the tension when weapons landed in eastern Poland. Now Putin is raising the risk of a skirmish with NATO by using Iranian drones to attack Danube ports to deter shipping. Madness

Just read Vlad the pute has had Alexei Navalny banged up for a further 18 years (a death sentence). Someone, somewhere needs to arrange a jail break

You beat me to it

Sorry about that, FFF ( fastest finger first)

Astonishing. I love that the Guardian says the cause of the crash was not immediately clear but gives us some very plausible possibilities.

Yevgeny had a close encounter with Sam

Tragic :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Interesting to see what will now happen in West Africa.

He was flying with the Wagner “high command” , a wonderful target, and it appears Russian air defence took the plane out.

Ahhh…so they all wouldn’t fit through a window.

Either way Africa is screwed. The Chinese will be on the way.

There will still be a lot of not so high commanders, I just wonder what (standing) orders they’d been given in the quite likely case of their assassination. Any money on another coup attempt?

I think China maybe screwed too. There’s an avalanche of negitive economic comment (from non shitty sources). Nothing to rejoice about

I love this low key, low cost, high visibility, war of attrition stuff.
