Consent for inclusion in "SFN Art Village Online" e-magazine

Hi, everyone, still more 'permissions' coming through, keep it up.

Hoping everyone's cool about the fact that sectioning our respective skills into different 'titles' is the way forward, and that your permissions are carte blanche for whichever direction. Probably too early to 'specify' genres, especially as it is our hope that a suite of related titles will not only be 'best in class' but periodically published, and really with a view to building up a following.

I guy showed me one such magazine today, on an ipad3, not your traditional format ie A4 finished, left and right hand pages...but one which you scrolled North South East and West....Absolutely 'razor' sharp, brilliant.

I re-stress that from a production point of view that these things take little time to assemble, and I am more than happy to put any number together. In fact I am getting quite excited about the launch of No I.

Hi Helen, good job.

You have a superb 'eye' for layout in your work, very nice to see.

Of course I agree. No problem. I hope it will be a big success. I am happy to publicise it as much as possible.

To All.

The interest in the Online Publication has been overwhelming, thank you all indeed. There has been so much put forward, covering so many different artistic avenues, that the steering committee is discussing a 'Series' enabling all of us to benefit from and enjoy 'stand alone' Magazines, under the SFN Banner but allied to appropriate disciplines.

So there will be plenty of scope for Crafts, Jewellery, Furniture, Fashion, Graphic Design etc. We do agree that this a healthy way forward and enables the Principals to ensure that SFN Art Village Online will specialise in the Fine Arts in 2 or 3 Dimensions. We will therefore preclude Photography, Graphics, Craft etc.

For everyone's information the Format is complete, articles written, content agreed. We will be issuing 'page proofs' to those who are featuring in the pilot issue next week... with a view to publishing online sometime before the 12th May 2012.

Do PLEASE keep your material, and 'permissions' coming in, PLUS suggestions of how you might see 'Sister' Magazine's take shape. Could it be that there there is enough input for a Textiles stand alone, which could embrace, design, fashion, printing, embroidery, tee shirts, hand made clothing....?

We welcome any suggestions, but do be appraised that these, if the uptake is there, will be Periodicals... so whilst a one off would be fine, exposure and continuity is the what we would be looking to achieve.

Thank you again for your responses, and the offers of help in pushing this great opportunity forward. We will be calling on everyone to help with the launch, FB likes, Pinterest, Tweets, Blogs etc. ad nauseam...

Please address editorial queries to Sheila Walshe-Blackmore, Creative questions to Neil Whitehead, and any Production problems to myself Ron Birks any other issues to James and Catharine.

See you online next time around!!

I also agree to have images of my artwork included in SFN Art Village Online magazine (if I'm not too late).

Jean Colbear

I'm glad this is here! I consent to allow any and all of my artwork of my choosing to be presented in this e-magazine. Of course, as soon as my samples are available to be seen online I'll post about it as an announcement so everyone knows what to look for and see that it's my work when I do.

Carolyn

Thanks Neil... bit sparse on the typeface front?

Thank you Sheila, but consider me only a tool in the Pandora's box we call The Art Department. 'Tis the others who put the 'Art' in Department!

Just a short note to say a big THANK YOU to Ron for all the hard work he has put in, in preparing the inaugural edition of SFN Art Village Online. *round of applause*. Where's Catharine's drum roll when we need her?

To All interested Parties,

Well, thank you to all artists who have come forward and granted us permission to reproduce their Artworks in The Arts Magazine.

In fact the response has been outstanding and has helped the steering committee to fine tune our 'stance'.

News has just filtered through from The Editor that the Publication will, certainly for the initial launch, adhere to the original concept of a High End Art Journal, which will feature from the short-list now drawn up, a collection of Paintings from within our network, and only by Members of the Art Department of SFN.

Editorially, is has been decided that other disciplines, such as Graphic Design, Photography, Crafts, etc. will be featured but as 'Spotlight on' elements... in the coming months.

Editorial is now complete, The Layouts established, Permissions granted, and the initial submissions agreed upon. A 'viral' marketing campaign has also been outlined.... so page assembly, page proofs, and sign off are the only remaining hurdles for Issue One.

Please continue to submit your requests to enter, as I am advised that everyone will be considered for acceptance.

Please note that editorial decisions regarding content will be final.

Thank you all for you enthusiastic support and offers of help....it will be required...hold that front page!.

To All...

Dear Reny,

The original concept of the Publication was to create a Showcase for 'Fine Artists' who are Art Department Members. The committee has decided that there is the Darkroom Photography Group to be taken into consideration here.

Therefore it was decided that 'pure' photography be left out, although Art Type Photography may considered by the Approval Panel. It is much the same for crafts and graphics ( as distinct from illustration ) in that our hope was to create a 'Studio' book, a Gallery style showcase.

Although, Sheila, who has editorial control, will gauge input with to view to perhaps writing 'Special Features' on the crafts, or even articles on the difficulties of marketing items. etc. The aim remains to have a 'core' of artists as a mainstay and other 'items' of interest published in a 'news-reportage' fashion.

Please remember that this our Pilot Issue, and may indeed be a pre-cursor to a suite of Publications of various disciplines.

Sure!

Note to all.

When submitting your files of the artworks, please re-name them for ease of archiving here in the studio.

Trust me!

Note to all...

I have just created a new Pin Board on Pinterest entitled The Art Department ( oddly enough ) this will be to promote the Art Department, subsequent FaceBook Page and indeed the SFN ArtVillage Online Magazine.

I trust that by agreeing permission to allow your work to be published in the Mag, it is understood that links to that will also be created in the marketing drive. I can't envisage this creating any issues, but if you are concerned about over exposure, do feel free to PM me.
